In vivo interaction of the members of the EMF2 complex
(By Wenhui Lin, 5/2/2006)

Interaction between two members of the predicted EMF2-CLF-FIE-MSI1 protein complex has been shown in yeast cells and in vitro (ref) . However, in vivo interaction of these proteins have not yet been demonstrated, nor has the predicted protein complex been isolated. To demonstrate protein-protein interaction in plant cells, we are employing the transient expression system of Nicotiana benthamiana. Tagged gene constructs are introduced into N. benthamiana leaf via Agrobacterium infection. We are also introducing these constructs into Arabidopsis with the goal of isolating the EMF2 PcG protein complex from Arabidopsis.
